Berta Solana, born in Madrid, Spain in 1976 is establishing herself as a notable figurative artist. Solana exhibited artistic talent from a young age and attended Erasmus, Vrije Univesiteit in Amsterdam, Holland. She continued her studies, graduating with her Master’s Degree in Art History from the Complutense University of Madrid.
She soon began her professional career creating oil paintings for a variety of exhibitions and corporations. Her instantly recognizable creations feature realistic figures, often families, set upon a neutral background, reminiscent of a wide open beach or plaza. Solana’s figurative paintings give a nostalgic sense of togetherness, despite the expansive space around them.
