Betty Boyle (5/11/1927-5/28/2015), a native of New York, was a recognized watercolor artist who has featured many Indianapolis landmarks in her paintings. Boyle began her career in New York as a commercial artist spending five years before taking time out to raise her family. During these years, her interest in the fine arts developed and she began exhibiting while living in the Chicago area.
When the family moved to Indiana in 1968, she continued exhibiting and taught art classes when her youngest child began school. For three years she worked as a watercolor artist with the Metropolitan Arts Council of Indianapolis.
Working in oil as well as watercolor, Betty was a signature artist of both the Kentucky Watercolor Society and the Watercolor Society of Indiana and was represented in Marblehead, MA and galleries in Indianapolis, Carmel, Zionsville and Columbus, IN.
