Born in Tarapoto, Peru, in 1958, William Rengifo has become one of the most renowned impressionist painters in South America. After struggling for 6 years to reaffirm his preference for impressionism while attending art school, Escuela de Bellas Artes de Lima, that emphasized abstraction, Rengifo emerged as a genuine representative of the style.
He toured Europe on multiple occasions enhancing his admiration for Monet, Renoir and Cezanne. His goal on these visits was his search for the “secret element” to capture light as the masters did.
With more than 50 shows under his belt, including several One-Person-Shows, Rengifo has the credentials to conquer the North American market and succeed.
