Patrick Kinkade, Thomas Kinkade’s brother, has asked us to spread the word about a documentary that Deborah Stone is working on and hopes to have broadcast on PBS. For those of you who collect his work, you may be intrigued to be able to help get this documentary off the ground which hopes to be a revealing and intimate portrait of Thom’s life.
Here is her letter:
Dear Thomas Kinkade Collector:
My name is Deborah Stone and I am a television/film producer in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Currently, I am in the midst of producing a documentary on the life of Thomas Kinkade. I need your help.
PBS, would love to have this program, but has stated the Kinkade Company cannot be involved financially because they are afraid it would be coming from a slanted perspective. My production company has begun the first stages of the documentary but I am looking for more funding to complete the entire 60 minutes.
I knew and worked with Thom before his untimely death. Nanette, Thom’s widow, has agreed to be interviewed, which is an honor to me. Thom’s brother Pat, his sister Kate, and the rest of the Kinkade family have given me their blessings on producing an honest look into this great artists’ life.
Please join hands with me to make this a memorable, insightful story on the life of Thomas Kinkade. I have started a Kickstarter campaign to try and raise the money before my PBS deadline. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.
Attached is a link to the project. Pass it on to as many people you feel might be interested – and in doing so; you will be part of helping the story of Thomas Kinkade come to life.
