Saint Patrick’s Cathedral was a daring vision to create the most beautiful Gothic Cathedral in the New World by Archbishop Hughes in the 1800’s. The cornerstone was laid in 1858 and 21 years later, the doors were opened to the worshippers, many of whom had helped with funding through support at the largest ecclesiastical fair in 1878.
